Dr. Vernese is a board-certified physiatrist who specializes in sports medicine. From foundations in osteopathy, she believes that the body has a natural tendency toward self-healing and that the less invasive treatments are often ideal in the long-term. Sometimes the body needs assistance, and Dr. Vernese helps patients with modifications of lifestyle, activity and/or diet. When appropriate, she can apply osteopathic manual treatment or procedural ultrasound skills to help nudge the body in the right direction. No matter the treatment, Dr. Vernese focuses on empowering the patient to take an active role in his or her healing process.
